Advancing 6G Security and Privacy

The MARE project has officially kicked off with a two-day inaugural meeting held on January 14-15, 2025, at Space Hellas HQ in Athens, Greece. This meeting brought together key partners and stakeholders from across Europe, including Demokritos NCSRD Core Team, to establish the project’s foundation and set the roadmap for the coming years. NCSRD Core Team will contribute to the architecture and requirements definition along with the development and validation of the proposed solutions.

What is MARE?

MARE aims to enhance security and privacy for 6G networks, ensuring resilience against evolving cyber threats. The project focuses on developing innovative security solutions, leveraging AI-driven threat detection, secure network architectures, and advanced privacy mechanisms. By addressing critical vulnerabilities in next-generation networks, MARE seeks to establish a secure, robust, and trustworthy 6G ecosystem.

Kick-off Meeting Highlights

The two-day event provided a structured introduction to the project’s objectives, work packages, and technical components. Some key discussions included:

Technical Roadmap: The project’s conceptual architecture, key technologies, security frameworks, and proof-of-concept use cases were introduced.

Work Package Deep Dive: Experts presented in-depth details on 6G security, privacy requirements, and advanced protection mechanisms.

Proof-of-Concept Demonstrations: Eleven innovative security scenarios were showcased, tackling threats such as AI-based cyberattacks, data integrity risks, and zero-touch mitigation strategies.

Moving Forward

As 6G technology evolves, the MARE project will play a pivotal role in securing next-generation communications, ensuring privacy, resilience, and trust in future digital ecosystems.

Stay tuned for updates as we shape the future of secure 6G networks!
